Quick and Easy Halloween Treats!

I made these quick Halloween treats.  They're our 1" x 8" Cellos - and I just stamped the little spider from the Googly Ghouls set right onto the cello bag.  I love that the StazOn ink is so quick-dry, especially on the cellophane surface!  

The trickiest part of stamping onto the cellophane is that you have to stamp straight down and up.  Because it's a slick surface, it's easy to wiggle and smudge your image...

 

And for the topper I used the Hostess set Mixed Medley.  It's from the Holiday Catalog - so cute!!

Quick n Easy Birthday Card for a Boy!

Here's a quick and easy birthday card I made for my my nephew.  Such a hard age to make an appropriate 'boy' card - 11.  So I went with Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse - kinda boyish?!  And, not sure if you can tell, but I used Whisper White - and embossed the background with the Stripes Embossing Folder.  And then I just made lots of 'dots,' or punched circles (Itty Bitty circle, 3/4" circle, and the 1-1/4" circle) to add to the background.

  

Then I added a piece of the Summer Starfruit Dotted DSP and the Happy Birthday from 'You're Amazing.'  I used the Apothecary Accents to die cut the happy birthday, and then cut off the right side 'half circle' before "dimensionaling' it onto the card front!

And, yep, I added a little plain ol' white baker's twine bow (trying to keep still boyish!).

French Foliage Cards and Portfolio

The month of September marks the end of summer and the beginning of fall; crisp days and cool nights, trees alive with fiery color and the promise of bountiful harvest.  To celebrate fall, we have for you this beautiful card portfolio.  Inside the richly decorated folio there are four cards with coordinating envelopes as well as a selection of self-adhesive sentiments.  When an occasion arises, a sentiment is chosen and adhered to the card.  The card design is suitable for just about anyone, making this a very versatile ensemble.

A Little Bit Halloween this Friday!

Here's a fun card we're going to make in class this Friday.  The fold idea came from my swappin' buddy, Nancy.  And the cute card layout came from my other swappin' buddy, Liz.  - Always can get by with a little help from a friend!!

I changed up the fold just a smidge from theirs, to give it plenty of room to open and close. - With a 4-1/4" x 11" piece of card stock, I scored at 4" and 8-1/4".    Then I used the 1-3/4" Circle punch to punch a half circle in the top fold section.  Super easy!  And such a fun different fold!

  

And here it is all opened up to put your message inside!  Cute, huh?

Die Cut Fabric Flowers

Fabric flowers seem to be everywhere!  Flowers are being worn for brooches and hair clips.  They are sewn on to t-shirts, pinned on purses, and attached to headbands!  The possibilities seem endless.  they are easier to make than you might think!  Grab your circle dies and some designer fabric and follow this tutorial to make three pretty and unique flowers.  These flowers will dress up any outfit, dazzle any purse and make who ever receives them feel special!  In addition, they’re easy to make and less expensive than any flowers you could buy!

A Perfect Football and a Quick Tutorial!

I made this football card for my favorite football player (you'll 'SEE' who if you read on...).  This will be my son's last year of high school football, so I made it for him just for fun!

 

Here's a little closer look at the football - and I was pretty excited that all on my own I figured out how to make the PERFECT shaped football!!  :)

So I decided to share a quick tutorial in case you want to make one too!
  

I started with Soft Suede Card Stock and die cut a 3" circle.  Then I laid that 3" circle back onto the die so the edge of the circle lined up with the edge of the die.  See above, and notice it's lined up with the edge that has the label on it.

  

After you run that through the Big Shot - you get the PERFECT football shape!  Yep, I was excited to figure this out!! ;)  (And I even thought, if you want different sizes, you can do it with punches too - just have to line them up and re-punch...)

Then I cut a long strip of 1/8" Whisper White Card Stock, and trimmed for the pieces I needed to finish it.  The end pieces were just whatever random size (for now).  The middle long piece was 1-1/4" and each cross piece was 1/2".  I glued them on, with a careful light-touch!, with Multipurpose Glue.

 

Then I turned the football over to trim the side edges off, keeping with the shape of the football.

 

And, Tah-Dah!  There's your perfect football - just make a card to put it on!!

 

And here he is - my favorite football player!  I finally remember his positions this year - Offensive Line and Defensive Line.  He's my 'baby' child, but 6'3" and 250 pounds!  So proud of him!  And excited for his season this year, a little bittersweet - his senior year!
