Creation Station Blog Hop - Anything But A Card!

Welcome to Just Julie B Stampin'! And welcome to the Creation Station Blog Hop for December!! We are stamping 'Anything But A Card' - and I Love making lots of other 'stuff' besides cards! I Love giving little treats that are cutely packaged. And this time of year, I like to make little calendars to send to friends and family. I've made many different versions over the years, some with add-ons like a post-it note pad and/or pen, even a little treat drawer one time.

This year I decided to go simple for my calendar project! I made a Faux Side-Step Card and added my calendar to the front of it.

The base of the card is 5 1/2" x 8", and then scored at 3", 6" and 7". Then creased into an "M" shape. I added the new Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper (coming in January 2022) to the middle section. And a little tip - for the Black Cardstock piece, I originally cut it 3 1/4" x 8 1/2" and scored it at 4 1/4", ready to adhere it. But I didn't like how the black edge showed along the bottom edge of the front fold, so I trimmed about 1/4" off the front section of the Black Cardstock before adhering.

Then I added a 3/4" x 5 1/4" Black Gingham from the Pattern Party Designer Series Papers along that bottom edge.

The tags were die cut from the Seasonal Labels Dies. I know I'll be using those for more than just Christmas! ;)

Here's a side view to see how the fold looks! - Fun, huh?! And it's so much easier to add on that 3 1/4" x 8 1/4" piece, rather than the usual tricky cuts on a typical Side Step Card.

Here's how the little tag is adhered, just glued underneath the Black Cardstock edge. I like how it gave a more interesting dimension to the saying! By the way, the saying was from the 'A Good Man' stamp set. That was kind of a random decision, but thought it was appropriate for an everyday calendar sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed your stop by! And I can't wait to see what my fabulous Stampin' Bestie, Elizabeth Price, has in store for us...

Enjoy the rest of the Hop,

Creation Station Hop! - Specialty Paper!

Welcome to Just Julie B Stampin'! This month at Creation Station we are showcasing Specialty Papers! We always have such an array of beautiful papers, which made this an easy task to show off just one this month!

The Cork Specialty Paper looked cool to me at first, but when I ordered it and received it - Wowza!! In person, it is not just cool, it is Fabulous!! It is thin on the backside, making it so great for a layered card to mail. And the front is 'real' cork! If you haven't seen it in person, you need to get some!! :)

So I used the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle along with the Biggest Wish Stamp Set (a must have set). Oh, and the Tailor Made Tags - another must have!!

I layered the Cork Specialty with the Harvest Meadow Designer Paper on top. And when I set out to make this card I was planning on using an array of Fall colors. But as soon as I added some Evening Evergreen Cardstock, I Loved just that contrast!

I added a smidge of Designer Paper to coordinate the inside with the front!

Here's a closer-up of the leaves. They're all just layered randomly on top of the cork area. And Love that the coordinating dies made them lickity-split to cut out!

And the tag - I just Love these tags!! And the little 'reinforcer' part on the tag - A MUST! Can't make the tag without it! It just finishes it off! ;)

And lastly, to finish off a great card, some embellishments. I used the Clear Elegant Faceted Gems! They're subtle, but still a nice added touch!

I hope you enjoyed your stop by. And I can't wait to see what Dena Rekow has in store for us, up next!

Thanks fro stopping by!

Creation Station - It's the Season for... Halloween!!

Welcome to Just Julie B Stampin'! This month we are stamping for the Season. Well it is Fall here, but still 95 degrees in California today, so not very Fall-feeling. But I'm super excited to soon be celebrating Halloween! Last month I shared Halloween, but I'm still creating for Halloween; and to be honest I even put out my Halloween decorations on Labor Day (Sept. 6th). I couldn't wait to start enjoying Halloween stuff!! But I waited until the 30th to put my stuff on my porch - didn't want my neighbors to think I'm too crazy! Hahaha!!

Here are a couple more things I've made for Halloween -

I used the Frightfully Cute Bundle to create this card. I added lots of layers - an embossed Pumpkin Pie layer using the Star-Crossed Embossing Folder along with Basic Black and Gorgeous Grape. And the focal piece is Basic White sponged with Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie. And some 'flecks' of Black from my Dark Black Blends Marker add that little extra somethin'!

There are so many great elements to this bundle that I added to this card - the stamped witch and bats, and perfect sentiments. But I Love the die cuts just as much, or maybe more - the trees, stitched label and witches hat).

Here's a look at the card inside - simple, but finished!

For my recent card class, we made a Treat Pocket. And here's a look at that -

I found the idea for the treat holder from another demonstrator, and then recreated it with my Halloween 'stuff'.

For this project, I used the Sparkle of the Season Bundle. I Love this bundle and it's versatility - I will definitely be using it for other Fall and Christmas cards, and projects too!

The inside pocket needed this fitting sentiment - it comes from the 'A Wish for Everything'  stamp set.

I hope you enjoyed your stop here! And I hope you're looking forward to the next stop as much as I am! I can't wait to see what the fabulous Yvonne Spikmans - Van Bruggen has created! Click here -

Creation Station Hop - From Simple to Artfully Stepped Up!

Welcome to Just Julie B Stampin' - so glad you stopped by! Today we're stamping from simple to artfully stepped up! I did my best to show you what could be an easy quick 'mailable' stamped card to a 'stepped up' version!

And I Love Halloween! So I created a quick card that I would typically mail to my nephews/nieces here -

This is a quick and simple Halloween card!

It still has some Dimensionals (under each little Halloween character) to give it some "umph" - not just flat! But also still easy to mail, without the extra postage!

But then, I added some style, 'stuff' and just that little bit more to step it up -

I think it might still be 'mailable' - but will just have that extra thickness that just makes a card its Best!

Nothing too crazy, but a Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder and some colored layered squares to bump up those super cute stamped and punched Halloween images!

And every card needs some embellishments (this one is the Adhesive Backed Cute Stars) and some ribbon (Black and White 1/4" Gingham) - and that just finishes it off!

I hope you enjoyed your stop here and my stepped up version of this quick Halloween card!

Creation Station Blog Hop - "Texture"

Welcome to Just Julie B Stampin'! And welcome to the Blog Hop for July - we are creating with Textures! We're using all kinds of textures - embossing folders, embossing powder or even embossing paste! I Love simple, easy, but beautiful - and embossing folders fit that bill for me! And I'm at my second home, where I have limited supplies - But, I did bring some new supplies that came in the mail right before I headed to my other house. So that's what I decided to use.

I mostly used the Merriest Moments Hybrid Bundle - which I Love!! I first die cut this fabulous piece using Evening Evergreen Cardstock. And then used the embossing folder to add this fabulous detail -

How beautiful is that Evergreen embossed piece?! I Loved it so much that I decided that it need to be set off with only a bunch of other Crumb Cake parts!

I added a flat Crumb Cake Cardstock layer and a Tasteful Textile embossed layer to the background. (The Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder is definitely my go-to folder for almost any background - it's so versatile!) And I wrapped some Linen Thread around those layers..

And that Linen Thread was finished with a Linen Thread bow! And did you notice the Evergreen bling?! It's really just the Basic Rhinestones, but I added Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blends to color them!

And just to be clear - the card was all mostly parts from the Merriest Moments Bundle - but the saying was a stray - it came from the Christmas to Remember stamp set. But, what do you think? Do you think with that saying on the front, it could be a card for a birthday?! I think maybe so?!...

But back to "Texture" - I love the texture and layers of this card!! It's simple with the colors, but really has a lot to it! Sometimes Wrapped Linen Thread and just lots of cardstock layers - it all adds up to more texture!!

I hope you enjoyed the card, and the bit of a Sneak Peek! And don't miss what the fabulous Kirsten Kreuzer has in store for us! Can't wait to see what see has posted... Click below -

In Color Floral Frenzy Mash-Up Blog Hop!

Welcome to Just Julie B Stampin! And welcome to our hop for this month - In Color Floral Frenzy Mash-Up! We were challenged this month at the Creation Station to design a floral card, and use In Colors from the 2020-2022 or 2021-2023 collections, along with only White as our Neutral, nothing from the core colors. I 'think' I met that goal. Well, maybe! ;)

I decided to use the Flowers of Friendship set along with the coordinating Flowers & Leaves punch. And then LOTS of White Cardstock!! (And then maybe a smidge of black!)

I had already made the cute little Simply Classic Treat Box with my Stamp Class people this past week. We decorated the pre-made boxes with the Flowers and Leaves stamped with Polished Pink and Soft Succulent ink and then punched. So I figured I would make a coordinating card.

I stamped and punched the same flowers and leaves (and bits of black!). And they are arranged onto a Tailor Made Tags Die, cut from White Cardstock. And I started with a Thick White card base. I added a Scalloped Contours Die Cut, also from White Cardstock.

And then there's this!! - It's an embossed layer of White Cardstock, using the new Thanks folder. It's part of a set of folders, Thanks & Hello. I LOVE this new embossing folder duo!! You get two great folders that also can be used as your greeting for your card front!!

And here's another view from the side of the card - just to show you all the dimension of the card!

And here are a couple more views of the cute Simply Classic Treat Box!

I hope you enjoyed your stop by here! And I hope you enjoy the rest of the Hop! Up next is the fabulous Jeanna Bohanon - Can't wait to see what she has in store for us!

Creation Station - What Do You Sea Hop!

Welcome to Just Julie B Stampin' - and welcome to the May Creation Station Blog Hop! This month's theme is right up my alley!! We are stamping with the Ocean theme! My home away from home is on the Pacific Ocean - and I Love being there, listening to the ocean waves crash on the rocks. And the air there just feels better than anywhere else - Life is Good by the Ocean!! But back to stamping - I am happy to show a few creations with the Ocean theme!

First up, is a beautiful card highlighting the Seashells Embossing Folder. I Love that this folder can create a card with very little work! I did add some Frost White Shimmer paint to the shells to give them a little bit of a pop.

This next card is made with the same bundle of products - in the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle! I Love all the Designer Series Papers that accentuate and coordinate with the stamps.

And this final card was made in one of my classes when the Annual Catalog was just released last summer. I Love this whale stamped in Blackberry Bliss! I Love the contrast of that color with the Pool Party and Pretty Peacock (I'm going to miss that Color, and Seaside Spray sooo much!).

And since we didn't have any twine that coordinated, I colored the Linen Thread with a Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blend Marker.

The card layout is the Double Z Fold - it's so fun to make a different layout to change things up with your cards!

I hope you enjoyed your stop here - and I can't wait to send you off to see what's next from one of my Stampin' Besties, Elizabeth Price!

'Sea' ya soon!!

Creation Station - Sweet Treat Packages!

Welcome to Just Julie B Stampin'! This month we're stamping Sweet Treat Packages! This is right up my alley!! I love little packaging stuff, little treats to give to friends and family - this is my jam! So I picked a few of my easiest and favorite quick projects - all based around 6" x 6" pieces of Designer Paper! - And this time with the Hydrangea Haven Papers - Love, Love, Love these!!

The first one we did at my last class! I'm kind of sad that these Clear Tiny Treat Boxes are retiring - they are so easy to decorate, fill with some treats and top off with a fun Belly Band!

The biggest thing to creating this is adding a 2" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper to the inside of the box. Then you add some treats inside. - So, so quick and easy!!

And a quick layered tag on top of a simple belly band is so easy!! I love that this slides off easily and makes it re-usable, or at least not 'ruined' when it's opened.

And this was a favorite from almost 10 years ago (see my post HERE)!! I recreated a Double Pocket Holder from someone else's larger design - I just made mine smaller for a 6" x 6" piece of Designer Paper (I Love small stuff!!).

It's so fun - you can put a Ghiradelli Square in each side like I did. Or other fun stuff fits in - tea bags, other small treat packs!

And then I made this super cute little open treat holder! Again it's made from a piece of 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper. And it fits a lot of treats in each little section!

This one has easy score lines and takes just minutes to create as well! I Love creating quick and easy treat holders - so fun to make and even more fun to give!!

Leave me a message if you want to see more details on the instructions on any of these!
