A Peek at Friday's Class!

This Friday we'll be making some cool stuff! At class we'll be doing this fun little Box Pleat technique. It's a fun way to score a strip of Designer Paper and add some great dimension to a card.

Here's a closer look at the Box Pleat section - I just love it! And I absolutely LOVE how our new Simply Scored makes this so easy to do!!

And check it out from this view - cool, huh? It kind of reminds of the little skirt/jumper that my daughter wore for her school uniform (seems like yesterday, but about 15 years ago!).

And for the top part of the card I used the set Notably Ornate. I've been wanting that set, and finally got it - and I Love it! Pretty and vintage-y!

Hope to see you at class this Friday!

Gettin' a little Funky with a Challenge!

I still can't get enough of these Beau Chateau papers - just sweet and soothing to me! So I pulled out a few sheets of that. And I really wanted to break out my new Simply Scored today, so I decided to make a Beau Chateau medallion to start out this card.

It came out pretty big and bold so I added some other punched circles, and an oval, to kind of mellow it out! But I think it's super fun to make these medallions - and especially with the Simply Scored (you'll hear more about it soon; it will be for sale starting in September).

I also added some 'any-color-pearls' to the tag. If you weren't at my last class, or don't what I'm talking about, it's the pearls with a hint of color on them. I just added a little permanent marker right onto the pearls - and gave them a new look - fun, huh?!

And here's the Sketch from Stamping 411 that I followed to make my card this time!

A Beau Chateau Beauty!

I made this card for the Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge today. I knew I wanted to use the new Beau Chateau Designer Papers (I just think these are to-die-for!!). The colors are so pretty - Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette, Marina Mist and Very Vanilla.

So as I was cutting and creating, I decided to use this cool rooster for the focal piece of the card - and guess what stamp set it comes from??

None! It's an image from the Designer Papers pack. I think that's actually kinda cool that I didn't even have to stamp the image!!

But sheesh, you can't make a card without ANY stamping - so I added a jewelry tag with a "friends" from the Tiny Tags set. And kind of subtly stamped behind the friends is a scroll-y image that actually matches the scroll-y image on the papers - sweet, huh?

An Awesome Gift!

Here's a picture of my stampin' buddies, Liz and Kaylene, and me at one of the photo opportunity spots at Convention. There were some really cool back drops for taking photos. As we were headed to make 'n takes on the last morning, we saw that there weren't many people waiting, so we jumped on it! And luckily, we ran into some friends that took the picture for us!

And, if you look real close, you'll see my new watch!

But here's a close-up of it laying flat. I got this awesome gift from my awesome stampin' buddy, Liz! She made it and gave it to me as a gift at Convention. She bought the watch face and metal snap at a craft store, but the rest is all Stampin' Up! supplies - our grosgrain ribbon, Beau Chateau fabric, and Designer Buttons.

Here's an even closer picture! Super cute, isn't it?? I'm so lucky to have a great friend - and one that's so supertastically creative!!
