A Champagne Toast to the New Year!

I'm not much of a champagne drinker, but I loved this 'champagne toast' card that I saw on Pinterest. And I thought it was perfect for a cute New Year's card! I mostly CASed this card from Monika Davis, with just a couple of my own little changes.

I used Sahara Sand and Soft Suede inks, but I really love the Champagne Glimmer Paper along the bottom the best! And as far as I know it won't be available after today... Stampin' Up! will still have Silver, but the Champagne didn't carry over! - It's so pretty though!

Well, I hope you have a safe and Happy New Year!

Re-Make of a Fun Treat!

I wanted to make a few little treats today. So instead of re-inventing the wheel, I used an idea I had done last year (click HERE to see!). But I just changed up the stamps and colors.

And my color scheme came from the candy treat I put inside! Gotta have your inspiration from somewhere :) - And they are Dove (yum!) sea salt caramel (yum!) inside dark chocolate (yum!).

So to make these candies have enough room (they are a little thicker than the Andes mints from my original idea), I scored the front flap 3/8" from the pre-scored center score line on the tag. Then they fit inside just right.

That little front flap tucks under the scallop circle layers.  And lookie how cute the little 'thanks so much' (from the Tiny Tags set) is when you punch it out using the Little Labels punch pack! - Cute, but very tiny!!

December's First Friday Class!

I'm so excited for my class this Friday! We'll be making these three cute projects and card. I'm the first to admit that none of the ideas are my originals - I got help from the Stampin' Success magazine, Pinterest, Dawn Olchefske and Becky Roberts. And I think it's so cool that there are so many resources out there to help when I want some inspiration!

Usually for my first Friday class we make three cards and one project (instead of three projects and one card), but I liked so many little cute projects for the holidays that I decided to change it up this month! I thought it would be kind of fun to have little gifts to give for the holidays. But I also used the Snow Festival Designer Papers on all the projects and the card so that it could be a whole little gift set to give all together too! In person, I think it looks really cute how they all coordinate and go together in a little set!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you at class,

A Belated Birthday!

Only about a week late, but here's a card I made for one of my nephews for his birthday.  I LOVE this Happy Birthday saying for 'boy' or 'man' cards!  If you didn't already get it in the set You're Amazing in the main catalog, you're in luck. You can get the single stamp all on it's own. - It's a great one to have!!

I used one of the Framelit pieces from the Apothecary Accents set to layer the saying onto. And typically, I would have probably put a brad or something 3-D onto the rounded ends, but I wanted to keep the card as flat as possible (it's going into the mail!). So I just cut some slits to feed some Seam Binding ribbon through.

On the left side I fed the ends out, and then just fishtail cut it. It needed a little something more, so I tied around some Linen Thread - a little Linen Thread always does a project good! - and it still keeps it flat too! :)

Almost Time for Giving Thanks!

I finally made some time to make a few cards to send out for Thanksgiving - and this card is what I made (times a few!).  It feels like forever since I just took out a few stamps and picked a few colors, and created something on my own!  I usually do a lot of CASing, or at least start from someone else's idea and then make some changes.  Anyway, it was fun!

I hadn't used the En Francais background stamp in a long time, but I like it - A LOT!  It's so subtle, but adds so much!  And I really like the 'real' look of the leaves in the French Foliage stamp set. - I used More Mustard, Cajun Craze, and Elegant Eggplant (for a cool different pop color for Fall!). - And love that the Linen Thread is a natural ribbon look, without adding bulk for mailing!

I hope you are getting ready for a wonderful Thanksgiving this week!

Same Card - Two Occasions!

I've been lagging in getting a couple cards sent out - and I finally decided and got them done!  It made them to easier to pick one design and then change colors and the saying - and done!

So I kept the design a Clean and Simple one! I used Perfect Plum for the wedding one, and Pink Pirouette for the baby one. And I used the one set for both, Sweet Essentials - a perfect choice for just about any occasion!

And probably my favorite part of the card, and best seen in person, is the Lacy Brocade embossed background!  Kind of hard to get a good look, but I sprayed it with Frost White Shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol. It gives it a beautiful glittery shine in person!!

Versatile Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags!

These little Snow Festival Designer Printed Tags are so cool - and versatile! I'm planning on using some for gifts (I guess their original purpose!). But I saw the idea of wrapping one around a Petite Pocket in last month's Stampin' Success Magazine.  So I decided to make one too!

Mine's a little different - cuz I made mine a 'thank you' pocket! I like the design on that tag because you can use it for any occasion.  Probably I'll save these ones out of my stacks because they are easiest to use later (Maybe even a good Valentine tag!).

Even the back looks pretty neat and tidy - how it wraps around so cleanly!

And here's another use for the tags - this one makes a quick a cute card front! We made this card at my stamp class last week. Boy were they fast to make - you could make a bunch for some quick last minute cards.

Do you have any of these tags yet? They're only $3.95 for a stack of 25 - what a bargain!

Treat Jars for Class!

I'm so excited that we'll be making this cute little treat jar this Friday and Saturday at stamp class!

The little jars are from the wedding favor section at the craft store (with my 50% off coupon). - It made them an easy choice to use for a fun class project.

The little Pom Pom is made with our new Candlelight Christmas designer fabric. And I learned how to make it from my stampin' buddy Nancy Ferb!  After making one, I thought it was a perfect fit on top of the little jar lid.

Then I made a coordinating tag with the coordinating Candlelight Christmas Designer Papers - so cool that it all goes together!!

I can't wait to share this fun project with all my stamp class friends!

Perfectly Preserved Fun Fold

This is a card I made just for a fun thank you! I used the same layout for a Halloween card last month, but I also had been wanting to use the Perfectly Preserved set - so I came up with this card.

This is how the card opens - and I love the layout!  The Indigo Island piece is a 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece (nice cuz you get 8 of them from a full piece of card stock).  The Sahara Sand piece is the usual 4-1/4" x 11". It's folded at 5-1/2" and 2-3/4".  With the top flap folded up, and the Island Indigo piece overlapped onto the fold, it creates this fun layout.

The new little scallop circle was punched out of the Island Indigo piece before it was embossed - and I Love how it works as a little 'staying-closed holder' for the card. It fits right back into where it was punched out of, and it keeps the card closed!

And I so... wasn't going to get that jar set - 'not my style.' Well, I did! And it has quickly grown on me after seeing just a few samples from others - and I'm Lovin' it!! There are so many pieces to the set, and with the Framelits that coordinate, plus buying it in a bundle set - "Must-Have!!"

Grocery List/Coupon Organizer

Being organized is a good thing!  Did you know it can also save you time and money?  Yes, when grocery shopping, if you take a grocery list along with you, you are or likely to stay on track and on budget.  And, it doesn’t hurt to be stylish while doing so!  This project helps you do all of that.  The folder contains a notepad and pockets for your coupons and grocery list.  You’ll also make some cute butterfly paper clips and a matching pen!  Makes a quick and easy class or club project as well!

My Halloween Tree!

I was inspired by the Stampin' Success demonstrator magazine to decorate my Halloween tree.  In the last issue I got, they had a Halloween tree that was made from tree branches, spray painted black. And since I already had my black wrapped wire tree - I figured I could make one like it! (And no spray painting twigs:) )

But I did use the magazine ideas for the ornaments! I'm just loving the Designer Rosette die - and anything you can make with it! So I added a Googly Ghouls witch to this rosette!

And here's a little Googly Ghouls bat with some circle layers (love the splash of Silver Glimmer paper in between!).

And because I wanted fill the tree with some other things besides all ornaments, I added some of the Striped Ribbon to a few of the ranches here and there.

These pumpkins were made super fast with the wide oval punch. I punched five of them, and folded each in half. Then I glued them together, punched a hole in the top and tied some Linen Thread for the bow and hanger - super quick and easy!

There's still time to make some quick and fun Halloween projects! - Just Do It! :)
