Soft Summer

Last Saturday I went to my awesome upline's house and she hosted a great get-together where we made this card and lots of other cool stuff! This card is from the New Occasions Mini Catalog set Soft Summer. It will be available on April 1st! I love the soft look of the colors she chose for it - my favorite Baja Breeze with Kraft! A sneak of Parisian Breeze Papers in between! - And, notice we used the Scalloped Edge Medallion!

Hope you had a happy Monday!!

Call Me Crazy!!? Milk Carton Tote Box

So the other day, I was surfing stamp blogs, and came across this super cute pattern to make four of the 2-4-6-8 boxes to put inside a little milk carton crate. It was a template to purchase. And although it was a cheap price (I still may go back and buy it!), I didn't buy it. Then I saw a blog that had a miniature milk carton crate made from two Box #2 Sizzix Dies stuck together back to back. So I thought I could do that for free - I've got that die! So, I gave it a try. Then I put some Raspberry Tart designer series papers around the two boxes (mini milk carton crate), and punched some large ovals for a handle for the crate.

The empty milk carton crate was a little lonely today so I filled it up! I made two miniature milk cartons - of course, embellished with lots of goodies, rbbon and bling! They're only about 1 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" tall, and they fit in one side just perfect!

Then on the other side I made a good ol' stand-by Post-it Note Holder, dropped in a couple blank 3 x 3 notecards with envelopes and a coordinated mini gel pen to fill the other side!

And, of course I added similar ribbon and bling to them too!

So, anyway forever and a day later I have this little project all done! I do like it a lot, but yep, call me crazy sometimes for all the time I put into these silly little things! I do LOVE to see it all come together though!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Easter Box!

So, Easter is coming!! I haven't thought much about Easter cards and projects though. I think as your kids get older, and the Easter Bunny forgets to come by to hide the eggs - it makes you tend to downplay the whole Easter celebration a bit. But, I must admit, I'm loving the getting-ready-for-Easter weather these last couple days! I do love all the green and freshness of Spring!
But, on to the project... I decided to use some of the Sale-A-Bration designer series papers, perfect Easter/Spring colors, and make a little Easter box. I even used some of the papers to wrap the Hershey's Nuggets and coordinate them with the rest of the design.

Another good thing about Easter - chocolates!! The set I used is A Good Egg. Then I coordinated Bashful Blue and So Saffron cardstock with the papers to bring it all together. I added a Round Tab Punch and a Window Punch to the top of the cello bag, with the Sale-A-Bration Saffron Grosgrain and hemp twine to top it off!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Another Oval All Card!

Here's another card for the Oval All swap I'm in. I used a kinda bright color combination. I was going for a kid/boyish kind of look on this one. I was trying to really make each of the cards in the swap take on very different looks/styles! That's another thing I like about Stampin' Up! You can take just one set (although, who could have just ONE set!?!) - and you can really change up the looks to get a whole new style! Anyway, I used Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, and Sahara Sand to put it all together - cardstocks, inks and ribbon. I also used the Star die from the Big Shot to punch out a quick star that highlights the scalloped and large ovals. I added a star brad next to the Friend stamp. Oh, and the card is a 3" x 6" card!

Hope you're having a good week!

Oval All Swappin'!

So my latest swapping is for the Occasions Mini Catalog that will start April 1st - no foolin'!! I'm making cards with the new set called Oval All. The fun part of this set is the new Scalloped Oval Punch that fits with the stamps in this set! So, here's the first card I made. Of course, I used the Parisian Breeze Textured Papers - I just LOVE them!! So then I layered it with Karft, Chocolate Chip and Baja Breeze Cardstocks. I used the Large Oval Punch and the New Scalloped Oval Punch, and topped it off with Chocolate Chip Grosgrain and a 3/16" Chocolate Chip Brad. I did do a little watercoloring on the stamped image - kinda nice to tie all the colors together, and Fast because it's a small image!
Hope you're having a great weekend!

Sorry it's been so long...

Wow, it's been over a week since I've posted last... Sorry, it's been so long. So, on to some fun stuff I've been making...

This fun card, but storage box (see inside below), is a template I saw on a few other demonstrator's websites that I re-vamped into my own model! It fits 4 to 6 cards inside. But when closed, it looks like a thick card all by itself. Pretty fun! I hope to make this in a future class!! I used the Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Papers to decorate the outside and all the four cards that fit inside. The flowers on the cover are from the Polka Dot Punches (Sale-A-Bration) set, embossed in white and accented with the 3/16" white brads (LOVE those!!). The "leaves" are also the flowers punched out - just in celery!

So, the cards that fit inside are all the same, just different base and tag colors - tried to keep it simple!! And they all have the eyelet border punch to accent, white grosgrain, and the Thank You from the Thank You Kindly set.

Wouldn't that be a fun gift either to make or to receive?!

Hope you have a good week - I hope to be back soon to show you some morre cool stuff I've been working on.

Thanks for stopping by,

Julie

Simple Elegance

This morning I made this super quick card! I have always liked the simple, clean-lined look of dry embossing. And now Stampin' Up! just released the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die. The Die coordinates with the set Fifth Avenue Floral (which I have some awesome card samples from my Stampin' friend Dena - you'll see those soon!). But back to the New Die - it is sooo easy!! You open the little folder, slide in a piece of cardstock, layer between the standard cutting pads and set it on the multipurpose platform (all pieces that come included with your Big Shot!), and roll it through!!

I added a Kiwi Kiss Corduroy Button and some Tafetta Ribbon, with a saying from the Absolutely Fabulous set, and I had a card made in about 2 minutes!!

Super simple!! And here is the actual embossing folder that I used:

Hope you have a great weekend!

Put a Little Pizzazz into It!

How come the weekends always go so fast??! This one seriously flew by... Anyway, I got this card from my friend Kaylene - who lives in Qatar! She's one of the demonstrators that I swap with when new catalog/mini catalog stuff comes out. This is one of the four cards she sent, using the Set "Petal Pizzazz." I love the simplicity, but also the little "extras" that the Kiwi Kiss Corduroy button adds, and the two Pink brads add. And, of course, the Raspberry Tart papers bring it all together! What did we do before the Designer Series Papers?? Can't remember, but I'm just glad we have them now - they're all so awesome!

Hope you had a great weekend!
