Quick and Bright Awash with Flowers Card

Here's a quick card I cased from Stampin' Up!'s display area. It's made with the Awash with Flowers set, and I really like the word set used for it - Fabulous Phrases.

Kind of a reach from my usual color combos - but bright and cute!

Hope you're having a great weekend,

More Expo Samples!

I was inspired to make these cards by Stampin' Up!'s Riverton home office! When I was at Convention, we decided that we had time to go visit. We knew that they had updated the Display Rooms so we went to check it out. And they had a whole bunch of cards in the colors that I'm supposed to be making cards for the Scrapbook Expo. I was taking pictures like crazy!!

So they are not exact to the samples that I saw, but pretty close! I substituted a couple things, but it was so great to get the inspiration to keep working on the samples I'm doing - and especially because I was having a hard time with the color combos! It was good to see that the Stampin' Up! artists are actually putting these colors together! The samples I'm making are really coming together for me now (I guess that's good because the Expo is next week!).

I'll post some pictures when I get the boards together - soon!!

Tote for Big Shot Class this Friday!

Here's the fourth project for this Friday's Big Shot Class. It starts from the Baskets and Blooms die, but has some alterations to it so that it's a boxier tote rather than a basket shape. I think this version of it makes it a little easier to put together, and I like that it uses an easy 1/2 sheet of cardstock to make!

I added some new stuff to it too - the new set Just Believe, the Victoria Crochet trim and the Cotton Paper Daisies - Love new stuff!!

Hope to see you Friday!

One More Big Shot Project for Friday!

So here's another project we'll be making this Friday for the Big Shot Class. We'll use the Scallop Circle die to make the dress - and I Love, Love, Love the new Blushing Bride Designer Papers for this dress - so girly girly!! We'll also use the coordinating Blushing Bride Stitched Poly Ribbon - lovin' that too! And, we'll cinch up the ribbon part of the dress with the new Cotton Paper Daisies (these are so nice - great quality!) and a new pink brad.

We'll also use the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder for a quick but elegant background.

Check back tomorrow for our final project! Today was a cleaning up, back to reality day - got laundry done, other fun cleaning up around the house stuff. But tomorrow I'll be back into full stamping swing, and I'll post the last project!!

Hope to see you at Friday's class!

Flower Fun for the Big Shot Class!

How cute would these be for a table setting?! They are seriously so easy to make!! If you can turn the handle on the Big Shot and stick a few mini glue dots between the layers, you have an awesomely easy decorative tealight!

We will be making these this Friday at the second bi-monthly Big Shot Class! You'll have your choice of which size you want to make.

Then, using the Flower Folds die again, we'll run through four layers of fabric and make a Fabric Flower Pin. And, as with the Tealight Candle, you'll also have a choice of sizes with the Fabric Flower Pin. This one shown is the largest size you can make; it works great for a tote bag. But it can be made smaller for a shirt, coat or headband accent. There will be a couple different fabric choices too!

I hope you'll come join us for these fun projects - and check back soon for the other two projects we'll be making! I'll be posting them in the next day or two!

Happy Stamping and Crafting,

Julie

P.S. I can't wait to show you come of the cool stuff I brought back from Convention!

Another Little GIftie for Convention!

So here's another little giftie I made for Convention buddies. It's one of my favorite easy projects to make - a gum slider! I'm liking these colors together - Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, and Chocolate Chip. And I'm really liking the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch! It's such a cute little add-on!

Off to some Convention fun....

Friends Never Fade - oops!

This is a giftie notepad and pen I made for some of my stampin' buddies going to Convention. As I was working on them, and figuring out the papers and set, I realized I've been calling this set Friends are Flowers. But it's really called Friends Never Fade! I think I keep mixing it up because of the sentiment on the stamp I used on this!! Ooops!! Anyway, I also used the Greenhouse Gala papers to coordinate it all together.

And here'e the inside... I made it with little pockets inside. The notepad fits into the little pocket on the right, and the other one is empty for whatever! It velcro closes too!

I leave tomorrow for Convention and I hope to post a few times while I'm there. I'm super excited to go - I can't wait to see all my stampin' buddies and learn new stuff!

Another Friends are Flowers Sample!

Here's another card I made the other day with my Woodland Walk papers! I just Love the little Curly Cute word set too - that's where the Congratulations came from! And I used the Chantilly Crochet Trim - which I Love too!! And, I'm super happy that I now have neutral brads, including Crumb Cake ones, to add to it.

Hope you had a good weekend,

Growing Green Simplicity

So here's another card I made working with my stampin' buddies yesterday. It's again very simple in colors and layout, but I like the added Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink and the Victoria Crochet Trim details! I used the Woodland Walk papers for the background and the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch for the accent along the bottom edge. Of course, the Crumb Cake cardstock and ink was the base of it - and then I used Vanilla Craft ink to color in the gingko type leaf. Then I added the Smooch accent (it's the Top Coat, which is really subtle and nice) for a little something extra - and I like it! Maybe kinda hard to see it in the photo though.

Simply Elegant Style

I got together with some of my awesome stampin' demonstrator friends today and worked on cards and projects. This was one of the cards that I made. I kept the colors very simple with Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip (makes me want some ice cream or a cookie, or both...). And, I actually used the Early Espresso Satin Ribbon - I'm really liking the intensity of the espresso color! I added a couple extras with the Vintage Wallpaper section through the middle and some self-adhesive pearls on the centers of the flowers.

The flower is from the set Friends Are Flowers, and the Thank You is from the set Curly Cute. I borrowed the Curly Cute words, but you'll see it on a couple more of the cards I made - think I'll be adding that to my next order!!

More Friends are Flowers!

I'm back with another "Friends Are Flowers" card! It's a pretty quick design - but that's what the Designer Series Paper does for you! It makes putting together a great card a whole lot easier! I love the new Pear Pizzazz ribbon - it's kind of a twill feel to it. And, I added some bling - the new self-adhesive rhinestones (Love them!!) and I used one green rhinestone brad (just took the brad part off and used the rhinsetone with a mini glue dot). I kind of wanted the contrast of the green rhinestone, but it sure made me appreciate the new self-adhesive rhinestones; Much easier!!

Baja Elegant Lines

This is a super quick card to make! Love this new Impressions Folder, Elegant Lines! I added some of our new self-adhesive half pearls wherever there was a little circle spot in the swirly design - kinda fun! Then I added the Perfect Punches "Happy Birthday" and a ribbon - super quick!

Happy Saturday,

Pumpkin Elements of Style!

With about a million things on my to-do list today, all I can think about is wanting my new stamp stuff!! I have an order from the new catalog that is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, and I can hardly wait!! Actually a bunch of what I'm getting is for projects that I have planned for this Friday's class so I'm anxious to get it and put it all together. But also, I just can't wait to see, and touch NEW stuff!!!

So, while trying to prioritize other things, I decided to CASE a quick card for my Scrapbook Expo display stuff. I saw this card on Brenda Keenan's blog, and I loved it in blue. Actually, it was very similar to a card we made in class not long ago. But, trying to stick to my assigned colors, I thought I'd try it in Pumpkin Pie. Not sure it's my favorite in Pumpkin, but I do like the card design and layout. And, I'm beginning to think, and see, that all these cards in "not my favorite colors" are actually going to come together when they're all on display together. We'll see?!?

I hope to be back tomorrow and post something NEW!!

Because I Care

Happy Fourth of July! So maybe this isn't the most patriotic card for Fourth of July. I mostly brought a bunch of supplies to work on some swaps because we're out of town for the holiday. But I needed a break from the multiples of card swap stacks I'm working on! So this is what I came up with, using the limited other supplies I had with me. The set is Because I Care, and it's a new Level 1 hostess set. Stampin' Up! gave it as a gift with our demonstrator pre-order for new supplies in June. How awesome is that, huh? I also added the Greenhouse Gala papers for the background.

I hope you have a fun and safe Fourth!

CASEing Mary Brown!

I was searching for some ideas to use the Friends Never Fade set and the Greenhouse Gala Papers on Stampin' Connection and I found this cool card done by Mary Brown. It really caught my eye with the paper piercer holes poked around the top edges of the design and the "bling!" The bling is just the pumpkin rhinestone brads - popping the crystal part out and mini glue-dotting them on! In the current catalog, we'll now be able to stick the "self-adhesive backed rhinestones" (can't wait for my first new order to try those!!).

I also liked the detail of rounding the bottom edge of each of the underneath layer pieces, and the Square Lattice Impressions textured red piece. Also, the rounded edge on the focal piece is done by sliding the cardstock through the Wide Oval Punch, leaving the bottom edge hanging out, and punching so that just the top gets punched. Nice details, but still simple effect on the white card base!

Have a great weekend,

Julie
