A Very Vanilla Valentine's Day!

I think I'm always creating last minute!! So here I am today making Valentines for my hubby and my son! Luckily, I had saved some cool ideas from Pinterest for inspiration. So I didn't have to do too much thinking! This first one was for my husband - I like the simplicity of it! And I really like the little Modern Label piece 'half hanging' over onto the window, just over the edge of the heart! That was actually part that I thought to do on my own!

And I found this idea on Pinterest too - it's for my son! Pretty simple idea too. The Hearts punch is punched on one side then the piece was flipped over and punched to the other side; that's what gives the mirror-image of that punch. At first that was a little mind-trick on me (and it's only Tuesday!), but I figured it out pretty quick! Then I punched a small single heart in the center of them. It has a piece of Real Red DSP underneath, Delightful Dozen Valentine stamp - and Wah lah!

Stand-Up Lollipop Treat - and tutorial!

I saw this adorable lollipop idea somewhere last week, and I've been searching again and again to see where I originally saw it! Not sure if it was Pinterest or Stampin' Connection? (If you've seen it and know who inspired me, please let me know!)

Anyway, I'm always excited to use my Big Shot Dies to make fun little treats. So when I saw the original, I knew I wanted to make my own, with a Valentine twist!

Here's the side view of it, so you can see how perfect the Tootsie Pop fits in there! I used a Mini Glue Dot to hold the top of it in place. And I love how you can make a perfect little stand-up treat with a Tootsie Pop!

You start with a piece of 2 1/4" x 8 1/2" of Poppy Parade, folded in half. You lay the folded edge about 1/4" down from the straight edge of the scalloped tag (on the Two Tags Big Shot Die).

After opening up the tag piece flat, lay the center scored line on 1 3/4" and score it.

Then turn the piece around and lay the center score line at 2 1/4" and score again.

Then punch a 1/8" circle on the center of the score line you just made.

Lastly, fold up the sections, with the hole at the top for the lollipop stick to fit through. Once you put the lollipop through, you'll 'Dimensional' the front scallops together. Then add your scallop circle with all the circle punched layers. Mine were done with the PS I Love You set!

Pull-Out Pocket Valentine!

I made this card for my Technique Class last month. I was inspired by a card made by Becky Roberts - so I created my own version. And then the colors and the accents on it got to be a bit much, so I found a simple, but cute card made by Angie Juda that helped me simplify everything to a monochromatic scheme. So that's a lot of how I come up with fun cards and projects for my classes! I find cool stuff made by other people - change it up, rearrange it, and a little bit of 'make it my own' and it's a new project for class! (And there is that once in a blue moon when I actually create something on my own too!)

So here's the pull-out part. And how cool would it be to attach a gift card to it, or you could just write a special note!

Wouldn't it make a cute Valentine for that someone special?!

Return of the Scallop Envelope!

I made a bunch of these quick little gifties the other night! I love how the Scallop Envelope die for the Big Shot makes easy little treats. - And Ghiradelli's fit in there just right!



I used the Heart of Hearts Embosslit to make the Scalloped red heart. And then I used the new PS I Love You set to stamp the heart, and then punched with the Full Heart Punch. The saying is also from the PS I Love You set - lots of great pieces in that set! Check it out in the Occasions Mini - plus lots of other awesome new goodies!!
