May Stamp Class Project Choice!

Yes! My May Stamp Class is ON for the coming week!! And yes, for sure this will be a whole new way of doing stamp class for me. I feel like an old dog who isn't that into learning too many new tricks. But when it came down to learning a new way or not doing it at all, then I'm up for the learning curve!! - I miss my stampin' friends!

So, by mail and Zoom calls will be our new way - and we'll see how this goes! ;)

So one of the projects that will be going out is this Pineapple Treat Holder/Note Card. It's not really both - but a choice. This is another 'new' thing I thought I'd try.

With the set of supplies I'm mailing out, there will be one pineapple with it's top, tag, linen piece and Tropical Oasis Trinket, a piece of Crushed Curry Cardstock (and yes, who woulda thought that Crushed Curry makes a prettier color for a pineapple than Pineapple Punch would?!...). All those pieces will create this little Treat Holder, pictured above.

And then I decided to include a Very Vanilla Note Card and Envelope, just in case the participants would rather use the pieces to add to a card, instead of having a Treat Holder.

Everything is the same, just a slight trim off the Crushed Curry Cardstock piece if it's going to be added to the Note Card front!

And the 'treat' isn't really very much of a treat, as I usually do something along the lines of a sweet - chocolate, something in the pre-wrapped candy range... But with mostly essential shopping in past couple months, I did find these 'gems' on Amazon (and ya, I could have bought some candy treats on Amazon too, but thought these were a fun 'practical treat' we could all use right now)!

The little Treat Holder holds these perfectly stacked inside. Or the set of two are a great little 'pretty much flat' addition to put inside a card you're going to mail out (as long as you use the postage stamp that has the extra ounce - like 70 cents I think!).

I hope you are finding time to craft some fun things, and hope to see you on one of my Zoom calls if you're joining class this coming week!

For The Win Birthday Card!

Tomorrow is my nephew's birthday, and this is the card that is on it's way to him! He's turning 13 and loves baseball. I'm sure this will be a different birthday, not being able to be out and playing baseball. But I still wanted to make a card with something he really likes.

I used the main catalog card idea (on page 59) for inspiration in making the card. I just changed colors and made it all baseballs!

I did fussy cut the win banner and MVP pieces - but I love the POP! that they both give to the card! And the little line of black in between the Balmy Blue and Pacific Point layers, it's Black Satin Ribbon. I like how it creates a distinct separation between the layers, and also uses ribbon on a 'boy card'! ;)

And here's the inside! So, ya, maybe the saying, "it's game day" might not be the most accurate sentiment, but hopefully he'll make it fun even if it's not an outside ball-playing game day!

Creation Station Blog Hop! It's What's on the Inside that Counts!

Welcome to Just Julie B Stampin! This month's theme is 'It's What's on the Inside that Counts' - I Love this idea!! So often we spend so much time creating a beautiful card front and then leave the inside blank. But this time, the focus is on the inside of the card!

So I had a request to make a birthday card with purple and teal, and it was right about the time when I was thinking about what to make for this month's design - so I combined them into this card!

I used a retired stamp set, Balloon Celebration, for the front. We do have a current stamp set with balloons in it, but I always liked the style of these ones, so I had to use it! But I first stamped the Happy Birthday (from Perennial Birthday) across the middle-ish to start. Then I just stamped those balloons in Gorgeous Grape all over the top part and in Bermuda Bay on the bottom part, some of each are stamped-off ink.

And then for the inside 'WOW' - all I did was add a 3/4" white strip of cardstock (that hopefully just made it fade into the background of the card base), that was folded in half and then again in half again, to make quarters. I only glued down the two ends and left the middle sections folded out to create a section to pop-out.

Then I punched a bunch of balloons from Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana using the Balloon Bouquet punch. I glued them randomly onto the 3/4" strip.

And to highlight one balloon (and kind of balance out the left side of the inside of the card) - I added a Black Twine string and bow.

And on the right side I added the inside greeting - and I Love the font and greeting from the Perennial Birthday stamp set!

Here's just another view, from the top, of the balloons to see how much they pop out!

I hope you enjoyed your stop here - and you have to check out what's next! I can't wait to see what the fabulous Sara has in store for us!
