House of Haunts for a Challenge

With Halloween less than a week away, I decided to make a Halloween card today. I love the set, House of Haunts. It's a nice mix of a little bit eerie, not too cutsie, but just enough spooky - a perfect Halloween fit!

And I found a Sketch Challenge over at Stamping 411 that helped me with a great layout idea.

I love this owl on the spooky tree image! I stamped it with a nice clean Staz-on black - and then highlighted with a little bit of our new Dazzling Details. I also added a touch of Old Olive to the owl's eyes, and some Cajun Craze for his beak. The oval shape was made with the Big Shot Bigz die. And then I added some black taffeta, Sticky Stripped on the backside edge, for a quick border.

Finally I embossed the Happy Halloween in black, on black for a subtle look! - and I kinda like it!!

I hope you're getting ready for Halloween too!

Thanks for stopping by,

Julie
