Simple Valentine!

I figured I would get a little ahead of the game, and I made this simple Valentine today! I love the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder - and the new Core'dinations card stock really sets off the pattern! The fancy laser cut heart is from the More Amore Designer Papers - but it's the backside of one of the Primrose Petals ones!

Do you have all your Valentines all ready yet?!

This Friday's Boutique Box Beauty!

Here's the little project we'll be making this Friday at class. It starts with the Boutique Boxes Designer Printed Kit. I added a few extra touches, but most of it is included in the pre-made kit. I really like the Soda Pop Top accent on the little box - it was something I had planned for last month, but I didn't get my order in time. So I'm glad that we'll be adding that little technique to the project! And the shine of the Soda Pop Top really 'pops' the project! :)

The little note card is included in the kit too - and they're the perfect size for a gift card. Of course, a good gift needs some kind of sweet treat - so the little peppermint patty is simply wrapped with a coordinating piece of Summer Starfruit Designer Patterned Paper. And both the little note card and the candy both fit into the box!

You can just tuck the flap into the box to close it, but I did a little 'trick' on the back. I used a Dimensional on the bottom half of one of the (kit included) little scallops. I stuck it on the back so that the flap will just tuck under the top half.

I thought that little finishing touch makes the back look cute too!

I hope to see you at class this Friday!

Sale-A-Bration Steal!

I was doing some blog surfing and looking around on Stampin' Connection, and somewhere I found a card that was almost the same as this! I drug it onto my desktop so I could copy it later, but I couldn't wait to make it! - Isn't it striking?! I'm always kind of hesitant with new designer papers that have so many bright colors, but this is really growing on me! I love the 'pop' of all these fun colors together!

I love getting the Sale-A-Bration freebies! - And we have so many cool choices this year! The ribbon I used on the card is part of one of the freebies - and you get 5 yards of three different colors, plus 36 buttons. Such a great deal, but even better is the quality!! This ribbon is so pliable for tying into bows - I LOVE it!!

Use What You Got!

The other day I got another Sale-A-Bration set, Feeling Sentimental, and I couldn't wait to use it! So the set had been sitting on my craft table, and I decided to just use whatever stuff I had on my table to create my card. I had been working on a project with the Tea for Two DSP so that's what I used! So maybe you can call me lazy, but I think it was sort of resourceful using up all my scrap pieces!

By the way, I wasn't going to get this Feeling Sentimental set, but - Wow! It's an awesome set for masculine and vintage cards! I caved, but glad I did! And heck, it was FREE!!

Have you made your Sale-A-Bration wish list yet?!

Valentine, or Anytime, Treat!

I made this cute little Valentine treat, or any kind of day treat, with the fun Sealed with Love Simply Sent kit. This little kit was so cute from the Holiday Seasonal catalog. But during that catalog period, there was just so much other stuff to focus on!

The awesome thing about the kit now though, is that you get it FREE when you buy the 'My Little Valentine' stamp set! How awesome is that?!

I didn't even use the stamp set, but you can check it out HERE, along with the special deal on the whole kit - a super great deal for $9.95! I did add my own Pool Party paper around the chocolate bar, and a couple circle layers under the included, pre-punched 'heart flower' pop out. And the Pool Party Ribbon was my add-on too!

But the most important to know is that you can only get the stamp set and FREE Simply Sent kit until TOMORROW! That's the last day of the offer!!

Valentine's Day isn't too far away, and even if you don't get them made up for Valentine's gifts, you can use them for a nice 'thank you' or 'thinking of you' treat for someone, anytime. They are so quick and easy to put together - and great to have on hand for a last-minute gift!

Burlap Valentine Decor

The look of burlap has become quite popular for home decor.  Here are two fun Valentine projects that will bring the shabby chick look of burlap to your decor.  Each pennant on the "sweet love" banner is burlap with designer paper stitched on top.  Accents of glittered hearts, dyed ribbon and paper flowers finish off the banner.  The framed Amore art piece really pops with rolled paper roses.  These two coordinating decor pieces would really show someone how special they are to you or would be a great addition to your own decor this Valentine’s Day!

Print Poetry Thanks!

I finally made some time to just play with some of the new things I got from the new Spring Catalog. I LOVE so many things in it!

When I put this card all together, I realized that the paper doily is white. But everything else on the card is ivory or crumb cake tones (one of my little pet peeves). So I decided to give some color to the doily. I used a Spritzer - and put alcohol, Crumb Cake reinker and some Frost White Shimmer Paint in it. Then I spritzed the doily. In real life, you can see it a lot better, but it really does give the doily a whole new look! It especially blends so much better with the Crumb Cake card base.

One of the other little cool things I like is the embossed border down at the bottom edge. I used the new Needlepoint Border folder. I love all our embossing folders, and that 'little something' they add to a card!

And if you don't recognize the Designer Papers I used, they're from the  Print Poetry DSP Stack. I love that Stampin' Up! has come up with these little DSP packs - you get so many designs for a great price ($6.95 for 48 sheets) - and they all coordinate with each other. - They're awesome!

Great Value for Valentines!

I made up a few these little Valentine treats with our Valentine Treat Bundle special. Such a super cool, easy treat to make - and what an unbeatable price! For $5.95, you get the cute Happy Valentine's Day stamp and you get 50 cello bags!! Wish these were around a "few" years ago when my own kids handed out Valentines!

And there are so many cool treats you fit in the tall skinny cellos - licorice, tootsie rolls, Sixlets, Candy Corn, M & M's, Skittles - even pencils!

Here's a closer look! I got the layering idea from a sample on Stampin' Connection. I love using the Two Tags die for the background. It just gives it a little something more! And I added some Pool Party Baker's Twine - everything just needs some kind of ribbon or tie!

It's not too early to start thinking about those Valentine ideas!!

More Amore Valentine Set

For a co-worker, friend, neighbor, or someone extra special, this Valentine ensemble is sure to please.  The heart-shaped pocket, filled with a cute little bookmark, and perhaps a gift card, make a great treat to hand-deliver or it can be left in a place to be discovered by the recipient.  Either way, it will brighten someone’s day!  Don’t forget to sign the over sized greeting card, which coordinates perfectly with the ensemble!

Field Flowers Thanks

I needed a quick thank you card last night and this is what I made - super quick! I've seen a few samples with the Hello, Doily background stamp used behind these flowers - and I just love it! And I've had the Field Flowers set for a few months, and this is the first that I've used it. One of those 'have to have' sets, and then I neglected it! But now that I've broken it in, I know I'll be using it more! And I do love it - So easy to stamp with, and such an elegant look.

Serene Silhouettes Portfolio & Cards

Make this pretty little portfolio and four coordinating cards!  Each card comes in a different color but you can make each card design with one color if you choose.  Stamp the envelopes to match and keep the set for yourself or give it away as a gift.  Better yet, make several sets and be sure to keep one for yourself!

Scrapbook in a Tin & Card

This special scrapbook tin and card are the perfect way to keep photos of those you love and cherish.  The tin takes up only a small amount of space, but can hold a lot of special memories.  There are eight double sides pages inside as well as eight note cards in the pocket of each page.  Add a photo and a note about the photo and keep it all in this special little tin.  It can even double as a gift card holder for eight gift cards!  The matching card makes this a perfect gift to give for any occasion!

New Year, New Calendar for Friday's Class!

I love starting off the new year making a new calendar - so that's what we'll be doing this Friday at stamp class! For the past few years we've made a calendar in January with these easy stick-on calendars, and I've always managed to find a new way to display them. This year I had to do a little more searching for ideas! - But thanks to Pinterest, and a few of my own changes and additions, I found a different set up this year too!

I think I like the back of the calendar even more than the front! :) The back is a pocket made from two Scallop Envelope pieces - and, so cute, it holds a Post-it pad just perfectly! I love the new Tea for Two papers on it, and the new Natural Trim Ribbon (to die for!!!)!

And here's just another side view of it. Cute little deal for your desk, huh? Or maybe for right by your phone? I love it!

Hope to see you at class this Friday!
