Non-Traditional Thanksgiving

Maybe Thanksgiving cards aren't very traditional to begin with, but if there were traditional cards I guess they would be old-fashioned looking. Maybe a turkey on the dinner table? Anyway, I think this card I made to send out seems kind of modern!

I started with the Leaves Big Shot die and I used the negative of the die cut. It was cut from a piece of textured Soft Suede cardstock. Then I added the Spice Cake papers underneath it.

I added more layers from the Spice Cake papers and coordinating cardstock colors (Pool Party, More Mustard, Very Vanilla). Then I added the saying from the Falling Leaves set.


Non-traditional, but kind of fun!

Simple Give Thanks!

I just love these Spice Cake Papers - and how easy they can make it to create a great, but simple card! All I did was add a quick piece from the Designer Papers with a Scallop Trim Border in Pool Party - and Wah Lah - A super easy card!

I added the saying from the beautiful word set, Hand Penned Holidays. - I think the sayings from that set can stand alone on a blank white card - and make a beautiful card all by themselves - so elegant!!

And then I coordinated a Soft Suede Taffeta Bow around it to bring it all together!



Super simple!

An Oldie, But A Goodie!

I made a few of these little Thank Yous from an easy, old idea - the Sour Cream Container. I've never really eaten sour cream out of a container like this, but I think that's what we always called it! I think it might have come from a Wendy's fast food container?!

Anyway, it's such a quick, little easy idea that's perfect for wrapping a few little goodies.

And when you use new papers, like our Spice Cake Papers, it makes an old project feel all new again - Love it!!

And check out how our new 1" Square punch layers onto the Small Tag Punch!! Cool, huh? An, yep, that's my go-to word set, Petite Pairs!

So Cute Owl!

I like owls, but when I saw an owl made from the Pillow Box Big Shot die, I fell in love! I think they are soo cute! The dimension that the Pillow Box gives 'her' makes her so much cuter than a plain ol' flat owl!

So I decided that this will be our project for class this coming Friday (or Saturday morning). It's so easy to make - just the right combination of punches, and she's all ready to fill with some small treats!

I used the Spice Cake papers for her Scalloped body - I love the colors in those papers!! And that helped me decide what colors would work best for the rest of all her parts.


I hope you'll be coming to class this Friday (or Saturday), and you'll get to make one of these little cuties too!

You Haven't Lived Until...

...you've had one of these Hershey's kisses! No, I REALLY mean this! I do admit that I have real sweet tooth, but man these little gems are THE BEST that Hershey's has done! - OK, so I did make a project to 'house' these, which I want to tell you about, but just a little more about the Hershey's Kisses! -

I guess they're just out for the season, and they're Pumpkin Spice flavored. I can't even show you the package because I'm afraid they're going to be sold out when I go back for more!! But they have the most amazing Pumpkin Pie flavor and creamy, yummy texture! My mom actually told me that she got them last year (but did she ever give me any? - No!), and I never found them anywhere last year. But while wandering in the Holiday section in Target, I spotted them yesterday. I even waited until I got home to open the package and try them - and now I'm obsessed! Can you tell?!

I decided that I will probably share a few, and so I mad this cute little box to hold a stash of them! The project is a copycat from my September class, and an idea from Shalae (Shelli's daughter) at Convention. I've just changed up the colors each time I've re-made it.

So this time I used the Spice Cake papers, and made a Box #2 (with no lid) for the inside. The Spice Cake paper is 3" x 12", wrapped around with the ends Scallop punched. Then a I used the Wide Oval punch to make a 'handle.' I gave it a little Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and a square punch tag - all wrapped and ready to go!


Speaking of go, I better go and get some more of these kisses!!

Shakin' it Up for Friday!

Here is a super fun card we'll be making in class this Friday (or Saturday)! I just love these new Shaker Frames from the Holiday Mini catalog. They make creating a Shaker Card so much easier! No more piecing together parts from your Dimensionals pack.

It took me a couple times of going through my Spice Cake Designer papers to finally discover this awesome paisley/flowery print - I LOVE it!! So I used the color scheme from that to create the colors for the layers. It uses Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, River Rock and Vanilla - nice soothing fall colors!

And don'tcha just love this little shaker window?! After putting together the layers it just sticks on to the card front - I love that! And inside the window is our new Mica Flakes from the Holiday Mini. They're perfect in the shaker because they float around so easily - and they're super soft and sparkly. - Love them too! I guess I love a lot of things about this card!

A Pretty Little Card Box

Here is a great set of all-occasion cards featuring the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Oval All stamp set.
